The inventor of the "Crittercam," two renowned photojournalists and an expert on alligators and crocodiles will be featured speakers for the 2008 National Geographic Live Speakers Series, which begins Feb. 21 and runs through May 8 at the State Theatre in Minneapolis

"Crittercam: A Wild Point of View" (Feb. 21): Marine biologist Greg Marshall's idea of attaching a noninvasive video camera to sharks and other sea creatures has produced breathtaking glimpses into the animal world.
"Dangerous Encounters" (March 20): Reptile specialist Brady Barr discusses becoming the first person to capture and study all 23 species of wild crocodilians as he works to increase understanding of these powerful creatures.
"The Mississippi: A Photographer's Journey" (April 17): Sam Abell documents the journey from Lake Itasca to New Orleans aboard the 19th-century steamboat Delta Queen with award-winning author and historian Stephen Ambrose to reflect on the river's cultural and economic significance.
"A Camera, Two Kids and a Camel" (May 8): Photojournalist Annie Griffiths Belt chronicles her decision to bring her children along on global assignments and relays the wisdom gained over three decades of international travel while engaging people of all cultures.
