National Geographic Photographer to talk in Minneapolis

Annie Griffiths, acclaimed National Geographic photographer, will speak at the Mpls Photo Center

One of the first women photographers to work regularly with National Geographic magazine, Annie Griffiths has a distinguished career as a conservationist and pioneering feminist. She's taken pictures in more than 100 countries and done photo-stories on topics as far flung and exotic as Laurence of Arabia, Petra, Baja California and Sydney, Australia. A fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, she has also done projects about the effects of climate change and the lives of women living in poverty.

Her books include A Camera, Two Kids and a Camel, Last Stand: America's Virgin Land and Simply Beautiful. She will discuss her work and sign copies of her books at the Mpls Photo Center, 2400 N. 2nd St., Mpls from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18.
