APPLETON, Wis. — National Envelope says it won't have to lay off any workers at its Appleton plant after securing financing to continue operating in bankruptcy.
A company spokeswoman told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/11lx57Z) in an email Friday that National Envelope has no plans to close facilities or conduct layoffs.
National Envelope, based in Frisco, Texas, had filed a layoff notice with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development earlier this month that it would be cutting 153 jobs in Appleton as a result of the bankruptcy filing.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday.
At that time, National Envelope said if it could not secure additional financing or find a buyer by Aug. 6, it would have been forced to discontinue operations in Appleton and 10 other sites in the U.S.
