Naked Stages

Dec. 10-19: One of the best places to see bold, avant-garde performance in the Twin Cities is at the Naked Stages festival, which culminates a seven-month training program for emerging artists at Pillsbury House Theatre. Actress, playwright and singer/songwriter Marisa Carr finds inspiration from her police officer father for a piece about criminal justice and law enforcement titled "Static" while performer Eliza Rasheed explores biracial identity with "In-Between." (7:30 p.m. Thu.-Sat. Ends Dec. 19. $16. Pillsbury House Theatre, 3501 Chicago Av. S., Mpls. 612-825-0459, pillsburyhouseandtheatre.org) And, for one night only, aerial-trained interdisciplinary artist Junauda Petrus takes over the Pillsbury House community center for an installation called "Waters, Sweet Red, and the Wild Glitter Transformation," which will create ritualistic and artistic spaces around the building. (9:30 p.m. Dec. 19)
