Friday-Saturday: The 18th annual school-fundraiser fest that kicks off the Upper Midwest country-and-camping season boasts two hot headliners instead of blasts from the past. Passionate and compelling concertizer Darius Rucker, frontman for Hootie & the Blowfish, has found a cozy second career in country, with such hits as "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" and "This." Jason Aldean (above) proved at the State Fair in 2009 that he is a bona fide headliner, a smart collision of classic rock and contemporary country. Other acts include Rodney Atkins, Montgomery Gentry, Josh Thompson, Carter's Chord, Gloriana, James Otto and the Oak Ridge Boys.

4:30 p.m. Fri. & 12:30 p.m. Sat. $100-$150. Winsted, Minn., airport. 1-888-946-7865, or www.winstockfestival.com
