The husband and wife fatally shot in a suspected murder-suicide in their Mankato home have been identified.

The deaths of Delbert R. Wilson, 56, and Barbara A. Wilson, 54, last week in their house came less than 11 months after they were wed.

Police say Delbert Wilson shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself. Police were called to the home in the 200 block of Belle Avenue about 9:20 p.m. Thursday and found the bodies.

The Wilsons were married on June 12, 2015, according to their respective Facebook pages.

Delbert Wilson was a welder for a steel company and Barbara Wilson worked as a nurse, Ron and Lois Martinson, who live down the block and were good friends of the couple, told the Mankato Free Press.
