'Ferris Mueller's Day Off'

Leave it to the wits at the Brave New Workshop to conflate the 1986 film about a teenager who creates chaos in his high school with the special prosecutor investigating possible collusion between President Donald Trump's campaign and Russia. Previewing this weekend, "Ferris Mueller" was written by performers Lauren Anderson, Denzel Belin, Ryan Nelson, Tom Reed and Taj Ruler, under the direction of Caleb McEwen. This latest show continues the 60th anniversary season of the nation's oldest, but by no means crustiest, sketch comedy troupe. (Previews 8 p.m. Fri-Sat., 7:30 p.m. Tue.-Wed. Opens June 30. Ends Oct. 27. Brave New Workshop, 824 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. $20-$34. 612-332-6620 or bravenewworkshop.com)

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
