Minneapolis Public Schools Superintendent Bernadeia Johnson will recognize Anwatin Middle School teacher Hayley Forrest and Armatage Montessori School Principal Joan Franks during tonight's school board meeting.

Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest selected Forrest as their "Middle School Teacher of the Year," for her efforts to teach financial literacy.

Franks is Minnesota's 2011 National Distinguished Principal, an honor bestowed upon her by the U.S. Department of Education and the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Johnson will also recognize Southwest High School teacher Colleen Callahan-Russell, the 2011-12 National Dance Educator of the Year, whom we wrote about in an earlier blog post.
