Minneapolis officials are taking nominations for the a new workgroup that will help draft a citywide sick-leave proposal.

The city's new Workplace Regulations Partnership will be a 15-member panel comprised of representatives of employees, organized labor groups, employers and business groups. Nominations for the group will be presented at a Nov. 18 council committee meeting and the members selected will report back to the council with final proposals by Feb. 24.

The new group is the latest development in a weeks-long discussion about workplace regulations in Minneapolis. After business owners pushed back agains proposals on scheduling and sick leave, the council tabled the scheduling issue and agreed to slow down its conversation about sick leave.

People interested in serving on the study group should submit their information to the City Clerk's Office by email at cityclerk@minneapolismn.gov by 5 p.m. on Nov. 9.
