A man found stabbed to death in his north Minneapolis home over the weekend was identified by authorities Tuesday.
Ever Gonzalez-Canales, 35, died about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at his home on the 2900 block of Russell Avenue N., according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.
Police had been responding to the house on a disturbance call when they learned that a man had been stabbed. Gonzalez-Canales was declared dead at the scene. Another man was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries. Other witnesses were questioned by police.
Police said there wasn't a risk to public safety.
The stabbing was the city's first homicide of the year.
