The Birth of a Nation (R) A historical drama about Nat Turner, a slave who orchestrated an uprising in 1831. Director Nate Parker stars.

Command and Control (Not rated) A documentary about a 1980 incident in which the fuel in an armed nuclear missile exploded in Arkansas.

Denial (PG-13) A recounting of a bitter legal battle between historian Deborah Lipstadt (Rachel Weisz) and Holocaust deniers.

The Girl on the Train (R) Emily Blunt and Haley Bennett star in an adaptation of the bestselling novel about a woman who becomes involved in a tangled missing-persons case.

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life (PG) A comedy about a rebellious teen (Griffin Gluck) who strikes out against his school's autocratic administrators.
