Big Eyes (PG-13) Tim Burton spins the tale behind the famous kitschy portraits of saucer-eyed waifs. Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz star.

The Gambler (R) An English literature professor (Mark Wahlberg) has a gambling problem.

The Imitation Game (PG-13) Benedict "Sherlock" Cumberbatch plays British WWII codebreaker Alan Turing.

Into the Woods (PG) Rob Marshall ("Chicago") directs this Stephen Sondheim musical set in a fractured fairy-tale world, with Anna Kendrick, Meryl Streep, Chris Pine and Johnny Depp.

Mr. Turner (R) A biopic about famed British landscape artist J.M.W. Turner (Timothy Spall), directed by Mike Leigh.

Unbroken (PG-13) Angelina Jolie directed this World War II saga of an Olympic track star who survived a plane crash in the Pacific, 47 days on a raft and two years in a Japanese POW camp.
