Drivers on a portion of Hwy. 52 in the east metro will be put on detour this weekend as MnDOT continues with a resurfacing project for the fifth straight weekend.
1. The southbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday from Plato Boulevard in St. Paul to I-494 in Inver Grove Heights.
Motorists in Bloomington and Burnsville will be spared a hassle. With the likelihood of rain, MnDOT has called off a planned closure of northbound I-35W between the I-35E/35W split to 106th Street.
The closure would have been in effect from Friday night to Monday morning. A new closure date has not been announced, said MnDOT spokeswoman Kirsten Klein.
2. Weather will not end a closure on Hwy. 12 between County Road 6 and County Road 92 through Orono and Independence. MnDOT shut down the highway Tuesday to build a center median wall. The project will last until mid-September.
3. Drivers also will find new traffic patterns on I-94 between Maple Grove and Clearwater due to construction.
MnDOT has finished work on the ramp from 3rd Street to westbound I-94 in downtown Minneapolis and has reopened the ramp. Starting Monday, the ramps from eastbound I-94 and eastbound I-394 to 4th Street will close through July 10.
