Authorities on Thursday identified the motorist who died in a two-vehicle crash on a Minneapolis interstate late at night last week.

Larry K. Brown, of Minneapolis, suffered numerous injuries in the wreck shortly after 1 a.m. March 18 on eastbound Interstate 94 near Hiawatha Avenue, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Brown was taken to HCMC and died there three days later, the examiner's office said.

The State Patrol said troopers were alerted to a driving complaint moments before Brown's car collided with one being driven by Stephanie L. Cox, 45, of White Bear Lake.

Brown's car was "allegedly weaving out of lanes, varying speeds and hitting the median barrier multiple times," said Patrol. Lt. Gordon Shank.

Troopers suspected he was impaired by either drugs or alcohol and sought to have his blood tested, Shank said. Results from those tests were pending.

The patrol also said Brown was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Cox was.
