A motorcyclist crossing a central Minnesota highway was struck by a pickup truck and killed after dark a few blocks from his home, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred about 7:45 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Hwy. 10 and Dove Road in Randall, the State Patrol said.

Killed was Michael J. Dolney Jr., 45, who lived about 3 blocks east of the where he was killed, the patrol said.

The pickup's driver, Robert M. Salonek, 50, of Monticello, was not hurt.

Dolney was riding east on Dove and crossing the highway, when the southbound pickup broadside him, according to the patrol.
