A motorcyclist waiting to make right turn from a store parking lot onto a highway was run over and killed by another driver Tuesday afternoon in Aitkin County, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The patrol said Jeffrey L. Merz, 68, of Palisade, Minn., had just left Ukura's Big Dollar Store north of McGregor and was waiting to turn onto Hwy. 65 when a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by Allan Lehtinen, 73, of McGregor, turned into the store's access and hit him.

Merz was wearing a helmet. Lehtinen, who was wearing a seat belt, when the crash occurred at 4:28 p.m., was not hurt, the patrol said.
