For the second time in a week, a motorcyclist has been killed crashing into equipment in a closed-off construction zone in the Twin Cities area, the State Patrol reported Sunday.

Just after 6 p.m. Sunday, a person died after driving a 2013 Harley Davidson street bike into a hydraulic lift in a construction zone near state Hwys. 95 and 36 in Washington County, the patrol said.

The motorcyclist, whose name has not been released yet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Last Monday, Wayne R. DeWolf, 57, of Lakeville, died after driving his 2015 Yamaha motorcycle around road closure barricades and colliding with an asphalt paver.

The crash occurred near Dodd Boulevard and 217th Street in Lakeville, and was reported to police about 5 a.m. last Monday, authorities say.

DeWolf died at the scene.
