Ricky W. Anderson, of Buffalo, died the next afternoon at Hennepin County Medical Center from head injuries suffered in the crash, the county medical examiner's office said. He was not wearing a helmet, the Sheriff's Office said.

His passenger, Antoinette L. Scandal, 61, of Maplewood, was hospitalized for minor injuries. She also did not have on a helmet, the Sheriff's Office said.

Jordan Nielson, of Elk River, who turned 19 on Sunday, was driving the car south on Ohland, entered the intersection and hit the eastbound motorcycle, according to the Sheriff's Office. Nielson was not hurt.

There are stop signs for motorists on Ohland but none for travelers on 95th, said Capt. Dan Anselment of the Sheriff's Office.

"The motorcycle operator would have had the right of way," Anselment said.
