Motorcycle crashes on Wright County curve; 1 dead, another hurt

A motorcycle wiped out on a curve in Wright County on Saturday evening, killing the operator and injuring a passenger, authorities said Monday.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on County Road 123 near Duffield Avenue NW. in Silver Creek Township.

Driver Randal A. Stevens, 52, of Elk River, died at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. His passenger, Rebecca Marie LuAllen, 53, of Elk River, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. Neither was wearing a helmet, authorities said.

The motorcycle was eastbound on County Road 123 and went out of control at Duffield Avenue, a curve in the road on the western edge of Lake Maria State Park.
