MILWAUKEE — The mother of a 1-year-old homicide victim in Milwaukee says her child's organs have been donated to three others.
Angelica Burkett says her son's life was not in vain because her child's heart, kidneys and liver were donated to three babies.
Burkett tells WISN-TV (http://bit.ly/1yfKRge ) she arrived home Friday night to find paramedics trying to revive her 20-month-old son, Laderreo Tolliver-Burkett. The boy survived the weekend at the hospital, but Burkett says he was brain dead and died on Monday.
Police say the toddler had numerous physical injuries. A 25-year-old man who was babysitting the boy is in custody.
