Moss is the absolute perfect fit

SuperFreak never should have been dealt in the first place.

The only way Vikings owner Zygi Wilf could top bringing Brett Favre to Minnesota was to bring Randy Moss back to Minnesota and line him up on the same side as Favre and Adrian Peterson. It's reportedly a done deal. The SuperFreak is back in town.

I have a hard time believing the Patriots unloaded him at a time when they need all the firepower on offense they can get. Then again, Moss found out that Patriots coach Bill Belichick doesn't play games with aging superstars who aren't 100 percent on board with the program. It's the Patriot Way. It's the Belichick Way. And it's worked well enough to win three Super Bowls. Randy should be happy that Belichick didn't trade him to Cleveland.

Moss was upset the Patriots didn't give him a contract extension. He went public with his feelings. Then he reportedly asked to be traded. If he thought that would get him a long-term deal that would keep him in New England -- where I believe he actually wants to play -- he hasn't been a very good student of history. Belichick has no sentimental ties to anyone other than perhaps Tom Brady.

I think the Patriots will end up missing Moss. Yeah, Moss didn't catch a pass in last night's rout of the Dolphins. But, believe me, there will be games when the Patriots will need Moss to stretch the field and make plays only he can make.

While it's hard to believe the Patriots would make this move at a time when they have all the weapons they needed to beat the Jets' defense, I still can't believe the Vikings unloaded him in his prime in the first place back in 2005.

Getting Moss back is the perfect fit. Favre needs a receiver to go up and get his deep passes. We all know it's looking more and more like Sidney Rice won't play this season. So who's going to go up and get those deep balls? Hank Baskett??

Love him or hate him, no one in the history of the NFL has caught the deep ball better than Randy Moss. The key now becomes his attitude if the Vikings don't offer him a long-term contract. And if they do offer him a long-term deal, how will that affect the several players who also are in the final year of their contracts.
