The Twins have said first baseman Justin Morneau continues to make progress in his recovery from a July 7 concussion. Morneau elaborated in an e-mail to the Star Tribune:

"Started full workouts this week [in the gym], and probably won't do any hitting or baseball activities until after TwinsFest [which runs Jan. 28-30], as there is no rush to be ready for Feb. 1st," he said.

Morneau said he'd rather "be ready for [exhibition] games March 1st, and more importantly, be ready for Game 1 in Toronto April 1st."

That will be the Twins' season opener at Rogers Centre, the same place where Morneau suffered last year's season-ending concussion.
