The usual suspects teed off Wednesday evening in the Twins 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels, with Justin Morneau and J.J. Hardy going deep for the second consecutive game and me not getting more than five-and-a-half hours of sleep for the third straight night.

Though Minnesota's top two guys in the batting order (Denard Span and Orlando Hudson) are each donning an .083 batting average so far, the rest of the lineup has been producing over the first three games... except for Jim Thome, but he's old school so I'll allow it. He'll mash a few taters eventually. However, the Twins did get a Spantastic RBI on a sacrifice fly after a Nick Punto triple in the fifth inning last night to give them a 4-0 lead, which was more than enough for starter Carl Pavano to work with.

The right-hander pitched seven solid innings, allowing just one run on six hits with six strikeouts. So far, it seems like we're watching the veteran we saw for the last few months of the 2009 season. Matt Guerrier worked a scoreless eighth and Jon Rauch came in to slam the door in the ninth, recording his second save of the season despite surrendering a run and two hits.

Back to Hotpants Hardy. According to the four female fans I spoke with at the Pro Shop inside Target Field last weekend, he has "super dreamy blue eyes." Looks like they'll be selling all kinds of Hardy merchandise this season, especially after the shortstop's .333 average, two longball start. You've got some competition M&M boys!

In other Twins news, the U.S. Green Buiding Council announced today that Target Field is the most environmentally-friendly ballpark in the country. The new, outdoor abode has surpassed Nationals Park in greenness, becoming only the second stadium to achieve a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver Certification. Yay Earth! Quite possibly TF's greenest statement yet is that all you get is a warning if you're busted smoking pot on the premises?

Anyhow, t-minus four days to the Target Field Home Opener people! As always, I'd love more than anything to read your thoughts on last night's game and any predictions you may have for tonight's series finale featuring Kevin Slowey vs. Joel Piniero at 9:05pm. Man, that's late.
