Twins first baseman Justin Morneau said he sat around Tuesday night and "and waited," for any concussion-like symptoms to appear after playing in his first game of any kind since July 7.
Nothing happened.
He said he had a good night of sleep, and was back at the Lee County Sports Complex to workout with other players not on the trip to Sarasota to face the Orioles.
He plans to play on Thursday, when the Twins play host to the Blue Jays.
``Actually I was pretty pleased - I wouldn't say surprised is a good word - with how it went. Obviously, I was sitting around all night waiting for something. It went well. Took a little nap. Had some dinner. Watched a movie. Went to bed. Everything was positive.
``Woke up today feeling pretty good."
UPDATE: TWINS MANAGER RON GARDENHIRE SAID THAT, AFTER TALKS BETWEEN THE CLUB AND MORNEAU'S DOCTORS, THE FIRST BASEMAN WILL START ON FRIDAY. Although Morneau wants to play tomorrow, his doctor wants him to ease back into a playing routine slowly.
