GLENDALE, Wis. — More than 150 students are sick with flu-like symptoms in a northern Milwaukee suburb.

WTMJ-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1syhi96 ) 158 students were out sick Monday at Glendale's K-8 schools. Superintendent Larry Smalley says the staff has been hit hard as well, with 21 teachers and workers staying home. That's about 15 percent of district students and educators.

Smalley says he doesn't want to close school but will reassess the situation for Wednesday if the numbers don't improve Tuesday. He says other districts in the area aren't seeing the same number of absences.

Ronnie Artero Frederick has twins who go to school in the district. She says one girl was out last week and the other stayed home Monday. She says she isn't worried but is making sure they drink fluids and get plenty of rest.
