Thunderstorms, a few of them severe, have rattled a swath over the mid-Southto the southern Atlantic Seaboard. The overall weather setting on Sunday willstay much as it was on Saturday: Gulf warmth and humidity meeting cool air fromthe north.On Sunday, thunderstorms will erupt in strength over much of Louisiana,Mississippi and Alabama; over East Texas; and into southern Arkansas, southernTennessee and northwest Georgia. Some severe storms will number among theseduring the day on Sunday and on into Sunday night. Houston, Memphis, BatonRouge, Jackson, Montgomery and Birmingham all will be at risk of severe localweather.
Damaging winds of at least 65 mph, flooding downpours and even hail willthreaten. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
