For the second Saturday in a row, the northbound lanes of the Lafayette Bridge will be closed for concrete work, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

The northbound side of Hwy. 52 between Concord and 7th Streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday so crews can pour the median barrier on the new northbound bridge that is under construction. The closure is necessary to allow crews to use the current bridge as a platform.

Southbound lanes will remain open, but restrictions are in place. No vehicle or combination of a vehicle and trailer longer than 35 feet is allowed on Hwy. 52 between 7th Street and Plato Boulevard.

Northbound drivers should detour to Hwy. 61, Interstate 494 and I-94 during the closure.
