Mom arrested after abducting her 2 young children during supervised visit in Roseville

She left with the kids, ages 5 and 7, in an SUV late Thursday morning.

A Minneapolis woman who abducted her two children during a supervised visit in Roseville has been arrested and the children are safe, authorities said.

Shameka M. Hatcher, 34, left during her visit to the home in the 3000 block of Fairview Avenue about 10 a.m. with the 7-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl, Roseville police said. She was arrested in St. Paul about 4:30 p.m. at a family member's apartment. Another adult was taken

Hatcher fled with the children in a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban before the arrest about 4:30 p.m. at a family member's apartment. Another adult was arrested along with Hatcher, and they were being interviewed, police said.

The children were going to be returned to foster care in Hennepin County, authorities added.
