OUT LOUD

"You're like, 'Whoa,' and time stops. I look over at my wife and she's crying because she grew up in Wheaton, Ill., 45 minutes from Wrigley Field. It's a surreal moment."

— Outfielder David DeJesus, after learning early Monday that had been traded from the Cubs to the Nationals, who were in Chicago to open a four-game series at Wrigley Field.

GAME OF NUMBERS

10.45

ERA of Angels reliever Ernesto Frieri since the midpoint of the season. He was at 2.88 for the first half.

8

Comeback trail

Brian Wilson

Pitcher, Dodgers

The Dodgers activated the former Giants closer and World Series hero from the disabled list before Monday's game in Miami. Wilson, who had not pitched in the majors since April 2012 because of an elbow injury and Tommy John surgery, made four scoreless appearances during a minor league rehab assignment.
