A 15-year-old Belle Plaine boy who went missing Tuesday night after a Le Sueur track meet was found safe late Wednesday, authorities said.

Andrew Cunat was reunited with his family about 24 hours after failing to return home from the sporting event. Police did not say where he was found.

"Thank you to all of the dedicated individuals that remained vigilant throughout the day to assist in this successful outcome," Belle Plaine police posted on Facebook.

Relatives grew worried about the teen's welfare when he failed to come home afterward and didn't return to school the next day.
