A 5-year-old Minneapolis girl who was allegedly kidnapped by her noncustodial mother on Wednesday afternoon was found safe Thursday evening.

Minneapolis police located Nalia Pantoja-Perez around 8:30 p.m. in south Minneapolis and took her mother, Serenity Joy Jones, into custody along with a male suspect.

Nalia was "forcibly removed" from her father's apartment in the 3100 block of S. Cedar Avenue by Jones and the unknown male, who then fled in a vehicle, police said.

Charges are pending, police said.
