Growing up, Muzit and I were just about as close as two sisters can get. Muzit was the perfect older sister. Coming from a different country during battles of war, she played a motherly role for 6 of her siblings.
She was gentle, kind, helpful and deeply concerned for the well-being of all of us. She was a beautiful human being who suffered from so many struggles that we never realized overtook her. It was a battle that was not easily defined. Alcohol abuse took its toll on her on 09/19/2012 in which she died-aged just 40. It was an unthinkable end to such a promising life.
She deserved better than to die unexpectedly and alone from such a terrible illness. Many others also suffered that night, those who lost their sister, friend, and my parents who lost their 1st daughter. Yes, so many suffered.
