The frequent pollsters over at Rasmussen Reports found that 53 percent of Minnesota voters think that Gov. Tim Pawlenty is doing a good job with 44 percent disapproving of his performance.

Those numbers are in conflict with a recent Decision Resources poll, which found that just 29 percent said he was doing a good or excellent job with 69 said he was doing fair or poor, according to a report over at the enemy paper.

But even Rasmussen finds some bad news for the governor.

From the poll:

The new survey also finds that fewer Minnesota voters would be willing to vote for current Governor Tim Pawlenty if he runs as the Republican nominee for president in 2012. Just 37% now say they would vote for him in 2012, down from 42% in November. Forty-six percent (46%) say they would not vote for Pawlenty in 2012.

The plurality (43%) says Pawlenty's potential run for the presidency has had a negative impact on the job he's been doing as governor. Just 22% say it has had a positive impact, while another 26% say it has had no impact.
