President Barack Obama on Tuesday nominated former St. Paul prosecutor and Ramsey County District Court law clerk Mary Kendall as inspector general of the Department of Interior.
Kendall has been in DC since 1986. She is currently working for Interior as deputy inspector general. From 2001 to 2006 she also served as the acting general counsel of the Office of Inspector General.
Before that, she had stints as a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney Eastern District of Virginia and attorney advisor at EPA.
President Obama said in a statement that "the talent and expertise" of Kendall and the other two administration post appointees "will serve our national well."
The Senate must vote to confirm Kendall in this position.
