By virtue of their 9-8 record and third-place finish in the NFC North, the Vikings know who their opponents will be next season and where they will pick in the first round of the NFL draft.

Vikings players cleaned out their lockers and met with the news media Monday at TCO Performance Center in Eagan after finishing their 2025 season with a 16-3 win over the Packers on Sunday and a 9-8 record.

It was relatively quiet in the locker room. As captain and right tackle Brian O’Neill noted, the Vikings knew Sunday’s game marked their season’s end, unlike last year when they lost in the wild-card round of the playoffs, which made the mood a bit different. Some players simply grabbed already packed bags and headed out the door. Others lingered, chatting with teammates or staff. One-on-one meetings between players and Vikings leadership are also taking place throughout the day and into Tuesday.

The team will soon begin the work of preparing the roster for 2026. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ contract status is the first issue on the offseason agenda, as his current deal is set to expire after the season, and the Vikings will have decisions to make on a number of veteran defenders as they look to clear cap space before free agency begins in March.
