After J.J. McCarthy sustained a hairline fracture on his right hand in the first half against the New York Giants on Dec. 21, the Vikings turned to undrafted rookie QB Max Brosmer for a Christmas Day game at U.S. Bank Stadium against NFC North rival Detroit. Brosmer had only three net passing yards, but the Vikings defense forced six turnovers to eliminate their rivals from playoff contention with their fourth win in a row. The Vikings are now 8-8 heading into their season finale against the Packers.
