The St. Paul Saints dropped into a first-place tie in the American Association's North Division after a wild 17-15 loss in 11 innings to the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks on Saturday night at CHS Field.

The Saints trailed 15-11 before scoring once in the eighth inning and three times in the ninth to tie the score. But Jeff Malm, making his Saints debut, gave up two runs to the RedHawks in the 11th. Nate Hanson, one of the ninth-inning heroes, struck out with a runner on base to end the game at 10 minutes to midnight.

Hanson and Tony Thomas each had three hits and four RBI. Thomas hit two of his team's four home runs.
