Wolves top draft pick Zach LaVine walked onto the court, looked around and was stunned. There were about 5,000 fans at Target Center for a scrimmage for the Wolves' summer league roster, which includes some players who represent the Wolves future as Kevin Love's fate continues to be in doubt.
The fans weren't disappointed. In a 71-all tie that was followed by a short dunking exhibition — dominated by LaVine — there was a lot to see.
LaVine dunked four times in the scrimmage while scoring 16 points for the White team, which got 21 points from 7-1 Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko. Shabazz Muhammad scored 19 points and second-round pick Glenn Robinson 10 for the Black team.
"It was great to see that many fans come out," Muhammad said. "We should do this every year."
Meanwhile, the Wolves' options when it comes to Love should become clearer once free agents Carmelo Anthony and — especially — LeBron James make their decisions. One published report had James planning to return to Cleveland; another said the Cavs were interested in trading for Love should that happen.
