Gophers freshman Shane Wiskus was chosen the Big Ten men's Gymnast of the Year.
Wiskus, from Spring Park, is ranked No. 2 in the nation in all-around. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week seven times during the season.
Wiskus and the Gophers will compete at the Big Ten meet Friday and Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich.

• The Gophers baseball team's two-game series at St. Louis on Tuesday and Wednesday has been postponed because of the weather. No makeup dates were announced. The Gophers (18-10, 2-1 Big Ten) are scheduled to play host to Penn State in a three-game series beginning Friday at Siebert Field.
• The St. Paul Saints signed former first-round draft choice Dante Bichette Jr. Bichette, 25, a first-round compensation pick in 2011 (51st overall) by the New York Yankees, spent seven seasons in the Yankees organization. Bichette, whose namesake father played in the majors from 1988-2001, spent the 2017 season with the Yankees' Trenton team in the Class AA Eastern League, batting .262 with 33 RBI in 72 games.
