Osmo Vanska
The Minnesota Orchestra, conducted by Osma Vanska, pictured, performed Monday night at Carnegie Hall in New York. The first review, at the classcial-music site concertonet.com, was very favorable. Ditto this one, at classicstoday.com. We'll keep you posted if other reviews show up. The program had just two pieces: Beethoven's "Grosse Fuge," in a Michael Steinberg arrangement for strings, and Sibelius early work, "Kullervo."
The New York Times review is here.
Go here for Star Tribune's review of "Kullervo," performed at Orchestra Hall last weekend, and here to see our review of the "Grosse Fuge," performed in mid-February.
Orchestra players were headed back to Minnesota on Tuesday.
