MOURNING DOVES
Season: Sept. 1-Oct. 30.
Hours: A half-hour before sunrise to sunset except opening day of waterfowl season, when shooting hours begin at 9 a.m.
Limits: Daily bag limit is 15; possession limit 30.
License requirements: You need a small game license and must be HIP-certified. Nontoxic shot is required when hunting on federal lands.
Notes: Shotguns can't hold more than three shells. Party hunting is prohibited. Minnesota's dove season often is short because many doves head south at the first sign of cold weather.
