A Scott County state legislator faces drunken-driving charges after being pulled over by Jordan police last weekend.

Rep. Bob Loonan, R-Shakopee, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear in Scott County District Court Sept. 28.

"I've never been in this situation before," Loonan, an insurance agent, said Friday. "I've been cooperating all along, and I'll continue to cooperate."

"I consider myself a law-and-order guy," said the second-term legislator. "I'm going into a system that I trust."
