'Via Dolorosa'

The Via Dolorosa — Latin for "the way of sorrows" — is the street that Jesus reputedly walked on his way to being crucified. Playwright David Hare crafted this one-person play after visiting Israel in 1997, and performed it to acclaim in London. Actor Robert Dorfman, who has appeared on Broadway and at the Guthrie Theater, stars in this show examining the vexing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. Longtime Guthrie actor Raye Birk makes his directorial debut in a show that kicks off the 23rd season of the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company. (8 p.m. Sat., 1 & 7 p.m. Sun., 7:30 p.m. Wed.-Thu. Ends Aug. 27. Highland Park Community Center, 1978 Ford Pkwy., St. Paul. $39. 651-647-4315 or mnjewishtheatre.org)
