Annandale area: Anglers are catching a few walleyes on Clearwater and Cedar Lakes using spinner baits or Lindy Rigs at 18 feet. For good crappie action, anglers are using tube jigs or crappie minnows in bays on Clearwater and Lake Sylvia at 13-16 feet. Lake John is producing some bass action at 13-16 using Texas rigs. Pleasant and Clearwater Lakes are producing sunfish action along weedlines.

Battle Lake area: Anglers are using Rapalas during the evenings or bottom bouncers with nightcrawlers for walleye action on Ottertail, West Battle and Rush Lakes at 15-30 feet. Northerns are hitting on spoons or spinners with sucker minnows at 15-20 along weedlines on Donald, Rush or West Battle. For bass, anglers are using a jig and a minnow or spinner baits on Donald and West Battle at 10-15 along weedlines.

Detroit Lakes area: Walleyes are being caught at about 18-28 feet on most area lakes during the daytime or using crankbaits on the flats during the evenings. Largemouth bass are being caught along weedlines using spinner baits, plastic baits and minnows. Smallmouth bass are set up on deep rocks at 18-26 feet while northerns are biting on sucker minnows on rigs or trolling crankbaits along deep weedlines.

Ely area: Walleye action remains consistent on area lakes at 12-20 feet using crankbaits or spinners with nightcrawlers. Smallmouth bass are taking crankbaits or plastic baits along shorelines and weedlines at around 10 feet. Anglers are using spoons or spinner baits for northerns along weedlines.

Leech Lake: Walker Bay and the main lake have produced consistent walleye action using crankbaits. In general, anglers are using jigs or Lindy Rigs with nightcrawlers at 8-15 feet in morning hours and deeper depths in the afternoons (18-25 feet). For good muskie action, anglers are using bucktails, top water baits and jerkbaits.

Rainy Lake: Anglers are catching walleyes around the submerged humps at 25-35 feet using jigs with a leech, nightcrawler or a minnow. Good crappie action can be found around reefs. For good bass action, anglers are using topwater baits along rocky shorelines. Northern action is productive in bays and around weed beds.
