Alexandria area: Walleye action on Miltona, Ida, Le Homme Dieu and Geneva lakes has been steady on bottom bouncers with spinners or Lindy Rigs with leeches at 17-20 feet. Bass are hitting on Texas-rigged Senko baits or drop-shot rigs on Le Homme Dieu and Geneva at 10-14 feet. Northern action is good on most area lakes on sucker minnow or spinner baits.

Bemidji Area: Walleye action is picking up after a recent mayfly hatch on area lakes. Lake Bemidji and Lake Plantagenet have been the most popular lakes for walleyes, on Lindy Rigs at 8-12 feet outside of weedlines or on a jig and minnow. Blackduck Lake is also producing some walleyes. Big Wolfe Lake is producing northern action on spoons or sucker minnows. Crappies are taking crappie minnows or Beetle Spins at shallow depths.

Chisago City area: Anglers are heading to Green Lake, Lindstrom, North Center and South Center lakes for walleyes, using nightcrawlers, shiners or leeches near the deeper weedlines. Bass are taking jigs and worms at 8-12 feet and northerns are taking spinner baits or sucker minnows. Good crappie action can be found on Chisago, Lindstrom or Green lakes at 8-15 feet.

East-central Minnesota: Blue Lake and Green Lake are providing anglers with good walleye action using crankbaits near weedlines at 10-17 feet. Anglers are using nightcrawlers or drop-shot rigs or throwing crankbaits on the Rum and Mississippi rivers. Little Elk Lake, Sandy Lake and Ann Lake are providing good bass action on top-water baits on lily pads. Northern action is good on most area lakes near weedlines, using spinner baits.

Rainy Lake: Submerged reefs or rocky shorelines are providing the best walleye action, on minnows or trolling with a spinner rig and a minnow. Sand Bay, Cranberry Bay and the area around Three Sisters have been popular walleye spots. The west end of Black Bay is providing anglers with good crappie action.

Willmar area: The walleye bite has started to pick up on Green Lake during the evenings at deeper depths. Other good walleye lakes have been Eagle, Diamond, Florida and Nest. Sunfish are being caught at 2-6 feet along weedlines while northerns, crappies and bass are anywhere from 2-15 feet.
