Minnesotans didn't exactly score big at the Emmys this year, but there are a few with local connections - or shall we say, Prince connections.

Former sidekick Sheila E. was nominated for outstanding music direction for "In Performance at the White House: Fiesta Latina," while bandmates Wendy & Lisa, also known as Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman, got recognize for writing the theme music for "Nurse Jackie."

As far as we know, Dudley Riggs veteran Peter Tolan never jammed with Prince, but the "Rescue Me" co-creator did get a nod for co-writing a musical number for the show called "How Lovely To Be a Vegetable." Too bad that that was one of the shows few nominations.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
