Two C-130 Hercules cargo planes from the Minnesota Air National Guard are now flying supplies in to Haiti, including water, personnel, and other needed equipment. They've already flown in more than 16 tons of supplies, including a generator that will be used to power a hospital.
Two crews of 53 Airmen had been destined for Puerto Rico as part of a regular mission but were diverted to Haiti after being put on alert. The crews have flown into Port au Prince and San Isidro, in the Dominican Republic. It's unclear how long the crews, which are based out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, will be flying the missions, but air drops have increased from 60 a day to more than 100.
