Minnehaha Creek Watershed District seeks citizen input

December 15, 2012 at 10:59PM

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is looking for residents to fill three open spots on a committee that provides input on the watershed district's projects and programs.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 31.

The Citizen Advisory Committee meets once a month, usually on the third Thursday evening, to discuss issues, review projects and policies and recommend actions to the watershed district's board of managers.

The committee members can also attend community events, teach community groups about water-quality topics and act as a liaison between the watershed district and community groups.

For more info or to apply, go to www.minnehahacreek.org/cac or contact Joe Barten at jbarten@minnehahacreek.org or 952-641-4523.

The watershed district, which covers about 181 square miles in Hennepin and Carver counties from Minnehaha Falls to Lake Minnetonka, protects and manages the area's water resources.
