The National Dance Education Organization has selected Southwest High School teacher Colleen Callahan-Russell as their 2011-12 National Dance Educator of the Year.
Callahan has worked in the Minneapolis Public Schools for 29 years, spending her first 15 years at North High School before moving to Southwest High. She is the president and founder of the Minnesota Dance Educators Coalition.
