Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day parade puts buses on detour

Metro Transit buses that normally run on Nicollet Mall will be on detour starting at 5 p.m. Monday due to the Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day Association's annual parade.

Metro Transit buses that normally run on Nicollet Mall will be on detour starting at 5 p.m. Monday due to the Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day Association's annual parade.

Evening commuters can catch their ride on Hennepin Avenue at marked bus stops.

Nicollet Mall will be closed between 11th Street and 5th Street for the parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m.

Here are specifics provided by Metro Transit.

Route 11 & 17

Northbound/eastbound buses will travel regular route on Nicollet, left on Grant, right on Lasalle, left on 11th St, right on Hennepin, right on Washington and resume regular routing.

Southbound/westbound buses will travel regular route on Washington, left on Hennepin, left on 12th St, right on Lasalle, left on Grant, right on Nicollet and resume regular routing.

Route 10 & 59

Northbound buses will travel regular route on Grant, right on Lasalle, left on 11th S, right on Hennepin, right on Washington and resume regular routing.

Southbound buses will travel regular route on Washington, left on Hennepin, left on 12th St, right on Lasalle, left on Grant and resume regular routing.

Route 18

Northbound buses will travel regular route on Nicollet, left on Grant, right on Lasalle, left on 11th St, right on Hennepin to North Terminal.

Southbound buses will travel regular on Nicollet to 3rd St, right on 3rd St, left on Hennepin, left on 12th St, right on Lasalle, left on Grant, right on Nicollet and resume regular routing.

Route 25

Northbound buses will travel regular route on Grant, left on Lasalle, left on 11th St, right on Hennepin, right on Washington and resume regular routing. Buses from Leamington ramp will travel regular route on Nicollet, left on Grant, right on Lasalle and follow detour.

Southbound buses will travel regular route on Washington, left on Hennepin, left on 12th St, right on Lasalle, right on Grant and resume regular routing. Buses to Leamington will take a left on Grant, right on Nicollet and follow regular routing to ramp
